SSCI is an endowed not-for-profit scientific and educational organization chartered to support the advance and application of human science. All proceeds from SSCI activities go to support its mission.

SSCI funds are used to:

Create communities of researchers interested in human science;
Develop physical facilities for housing residential fellows and hosting meals, meetings, and special events;
Provide fellowships for graduate students and faculty
Sponsor conferences and workshops
Develop leading-edge infrastructure for social science research and teaching
Develop and maintain other forms of scientific communication

The Center for Human Science provides facilities for two sets of activities:	Nags Head Conferences: Science at the seashore since 1981	www.HumanScience.org: A source for information about people, events and resources.
Human Science Residence Hall: This "experiment in interdisciplinary living" makes it possible for 12-15 researchers on Center fellowships to immerse themselves in an environment devoted to human science.	Sea Frolic: An ocean-front estate devoted to enhancing communication in Human Science	KNOW: Knowledge Networking on the Web--Enabling web-based focus groups and panel surveys.
Human Science Clubrooms: Sponsoring events and providing short-term housing for visiting scientists and scholars.		letsKNOW: Interactive online supplements for college courses.
Grants for Teaching, Research, and Publication: Graduate students and faculty are invited to propose scholarly activities consistent with SSCI's mission.
IRS Forms 990/990A As a 501-c-3 public charity, SSCI is happy to make its annual information returns available for public inspection.
